Graveside service for Ruth Sommers, 91, of Henrietta, was to be Wednesday, Mar. 1, at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Memorial service was to be at the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport. The Rev. Johnny Irish was to officiate.
Sommers died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, in Henrietta.
Born Mar. 9, 1908, in Phelps, N.Y., she had previously lived in Bridgeport and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport. She married Austin C. Sommers on Sept. 2, 1933, in Rochester, N.Y. He preceded her in death in 1979. She was a retired sales clerk and member of the American Association of Retired Persons.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane Forsythe of Henrietta; seven grandchildren, Guy Forsythe, Valerie Forsythe, Von Forsythe, John Forsythe and Billy Forsythe, all of Henrietta; Tina Barnett and Kristina Vidal of Bridgeport; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Guy, Von and John Forsythe, Robert Vidal, Donny Barnett, Billy Forsythe and Kenneth Ogden.
