McPHERSON - Betty J. Clifton, 82, died Jan. 31, 2007, at The Cedars, McPherson.
She was born Nov. 4, 1924, in Kirwin, the daughter of Joseph Frank Jr. and Sylvia Jackson Burian. She was a 1942, graduate of Kirwin High School. A resident of McPherson since 1976, formerly of Augusta, she worked as a cashier at Buy-for-Less grocery store and as a bookkeeper and clerk for Western Auto Store, both at McPherson.
On Nov. 26, 1943, she married John R. "Jack" Clifton Jr. in Smith Center. He died Jan. 6, 2007.
Survivors include: three sons, Gary, and Brad, both of McPherson, and Mike, Augusta; two daughters, Jacquie Balzer, Newton, and Roxanne Riggs, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Kenneth Burian.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church, McPherson, with Pastor Chris McGowan presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson. Interment will be in McPherson Cemetery.
