Roy Goodson, 95, of Lewiston, NY entered into rest on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY. Born on August 19, 1911 in Welland, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Willoughby) Goodson. He was predeceased by his loving wife of over 50 years, Dorothy (Slusser) Goodson.
Mr. Goodson came to Niagara Falls as a child with his family. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. Roy was a superintendent of shipping for various companies. He was a member of the Retired Men's Choir and enjoyed gardening, roller skating and bowling.
Mr. Goodson is survived by two sons; Gary (Nessa) Goodson of San Francisco, CA, and Rod (Jill) Goodson, of San Diego, CA and one daughter; Beth O'Connor of Newfane, NY, and three grandchildren; Derek Goodson of California, Kate O'Connor of Rochester, NY, and Jenny O'Connor of Newfane, NY. He was predeceased by three siblings; Lucy Conroy, John (Shirley of Kentucky) Goodson, and Bertha (Albert) Halley.
There will by no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 12th at 2PM in Bacon Memorial Presbyterian Church, 166 59th Street, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049. Arrangements made by OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.
