Raymond Pitner Persing, 86, of 1411 40th St. Court W., died Thursday (Jan. 30, 1986) at home.

There will be no visitation. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Christ Episcopal Church, 4030 Manatee Ave. W., with the Rev. Dennis D. Kezar officiating. Toale Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of cremation. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal School, 4030 Manatee Ave. W.

Born in Wolf Lake, Ind., Mr. Persing came to Bradenton from Battle Creek, Mich., in 1966. He was a member and vestry of Christ Episcopal Church, Bradenton, serving both junior and senior warden; a 60-year member of the Meridan Sun Lodge 49, F&AM, Sturgis, Mich.; a member of the Saladin Shrine Temple, Grand Rapids, Mich.; past commander of the Knights Templar No. 18, Sturgis; a 53-year member of the Bradenton Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow in 1985; a board member of Happiness House; a member of the American Red Cross; and a member of the Easter Seal Society.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice; two sons, Joseph A., of Bradenton, and Thomas A., of Grosse Pointe, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
