Notes for Benjamin C. Buckley

Lawyer and Vice Chanceller [sic] of the southern part of MS.
Benjamin C. Buckley b. April 7, 1812 in Mississippi d. sometime between 1866 and 1870. He married Margaret A. ?? and he and Margaret separated after having two daughters, one named Virginia, who was born in February of 1859 and lived only 13 months. Virginia was buried in the Monticello Municipal Cemetery at Monticello, Mississippi next to her father's grave. Another daughter, Nancy, who moved to Virginia with her mother, married a Mr. Monroe and they had two children: Vivian Monroe and Benjamin Monroe. Benjamin became a great lawyer and was Vice-Chancellor for the Southern part of Mississippi. He was also an Officer in the Mexican War and in later years dealt in real estate over the State of Mississippi.
