Emmett Kanouse was born October 15, 1876 in Kinderhook, Michigan, and passed away February 17, 1943 in Mason County, Michigan.
Emmett was preceded in death by his wife Grace Kanouse, and both of his parents. he is survived by his son Ward Kanouse.
Roy Oehler and Knauss Family Genealogy have his birth date as August 15 rather than October 15. I don't know which one is right. Several sources say he was born in Kinderhook (as Find A Grave, above), but his death certificate (on Ancestry.com) shows his birthplace as Ithaca, MI. Find A Grave has been updated to show Gratiot County as his birthplace and February 27 as his death day, but the above text is still there as of 29 Jun 2025.
