A Wilson Family Tree
Notes for Aaron Nelson Kanouse
He was the author of the Aaron Kanouse letter, written to J.H. Kanouse and family in 1952 (see https://archive.org/details/FamilyLetters, p. 4). In the letter, he mentions that he was born in Muskegon, Michigan; his family moved to western Washinton when he was one; he was the only son in the family. The letter was on letterhead of Floravista, A.N. Kanouse, Olympia, Washington. In the letter, he says he was in the retail flower bulb business since he was 20 years old. The letter mentions two daughters, ages 15 and 16, and then talks about Carole and Kathryn. Linda Farr said that Carole was the older of the two. Presumably these were his only children; he says he had no sons.
An interesting detail from the letter is that he says J.H. Kanouse's family (that is, William and Elizabeth Kanouse and family) visited Branch County, Michigan, by covered wagon sometime when Aaron's uncle Will was a small boy. Will was born in 1876, so I suppose this was probably in the early 1880s. William Kanouse and family moved away from Michigan sometime after 1870, and were in Iowa at the 1880 census.
His middle name is from Linda Farr; I only had a middle initial before.
