A Wilson Family Tree

Notes for Benjamin Franklin Hunter

Full name is from a chart by H.F. Hunter Jr. in the Katherine Gentry Bushman Papers, 1961-1997 (Accession 35743, Personal Papers Collection, The Library of Virginia, Richmond, VA). With the chart was this short bio:

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN HUNTER

Benjamin Franklin Hunter owned and cultivated 365 acres of land in Todd County. He was a very successful farmer, but lost his health and spent a small fortune visiting health resorts and consulting noted physicians who never seemed to agree as to his trouble. It is thought that he died from ulcer of the stomach.

In November of 1893 he bought a house and lot in Trenton, Kentucky, and moved there, but continued to operate the farm until his death on 16 November, 1896. The house where B.F. Hunter was born and raised was a large two-story brick, and stood in Clarksville where the Goodrich Rubber Plant was later located.
