ANDERSON
Robert C., former long time resident of Oklahoma City, died Sunday, August 1, in La Jolla, California. He was born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, on December 11, 1927. The family later moved to Muskogee, and to Oklahoma City in 1935. He graduated from Classen High School in 1945, and received a BS degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1951. He married the former Amelia Jane Wilson on June 8, 1950. He served in the Army in 1946, and was recalled to active duty in 1951 during the Korean War. He served as a Lieutenant in the Air Force in Munich, Germany. He was founder and president of Robert C. Anderson Oil Properties of Oklahoma City, La Jolla, and Denver. He had been an independent oil and gas producer since 1962. Prior to this time he worked in the areas of exploration, drilling, and leasing, and lived in Billings, Montana, and Denver. He was a long standing member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen, and of the Independent Petroleum Producers of America. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity, and was involved in numerous civic activities in the La Jolla and Oklahoma City areas. He was a founder and board member of the National Bank of La Jolla, California, where he had resided since 1973. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn E. Anderson and Dove Anderson Elheridge. Survivors include his wife Amelia, his son Dr. Mark W. Anderson, his daughter Daryl Anderson, all of La Jolla; one sister Mrs. Larry Cotton, Oklahoma City, and stepfather Earnest Etheridge, Oklahoma City. Memorial services will be held Monday, August 9, at 4 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in La Jolla, California.
