Notes for Elmina Pursel
It's hard to read her name in the censuses. It might be Elmira or Almira (or even Elmera or Alvina). The death certificate for son Thomas Jefferson Whitenight gives his mother's name as Elmina Pursel (this one is typed!). On son Lloyd's death certificate, his mother's name looks like Elmine Pursel. The marriage record in "Pennsylvania and New Jersey Church and Town Records 1669-2013" on Ancestry.com lists her as Miss Purcell.
