BASIC INFO: Mary (Best) Croom (circa 1735-before 1827) was born in Virginia. Circa 1754, in Virginia, she married Jesse Croom (1732-1812). Mary and her husband Jesse had at least nine children. Mary (Best) Croom died circa 1824 in Wayne County, North Carolina. CHILD: Charles Croom (1760-1840).
MAIDEN NAME: Originally, I felt there was not enough information to conclude Mary's maiden name was "Best," but Ancestry.com has two records that state it was.
SOURCES: Ancestry.com has three records for Mary: a "Family Data Collection - Births" record, a "Family Data Collection - Individual Records" record, and a "United States Federal Census" record for 1820. Some information about Mary appears online in postings by John Croom.
