FRITCH - Wesley Floyd Ross, 79, died Thursday, May 4, 2006.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Westlawn Memorial Park with Herb Hays of Amarillo and Jane Sheplor of McLean officiating. Burial will be in The Garden of Love in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Mr. Ross was born May 31, 1926, in Clovis, N.M. He was an inspector for 32 years for Mason & Hanger at Pantex. He served in the U.S. Navy in Iwo Jima during World War II. He was past president of Blue Grass, member of Optimist Club and was a little league coach. He married Thelma Florence Fody Tandy on Jan. 18,1947, in Hot Springs, N.M.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fody Ross; a son, Zane Ross; a grandson, Clint Ross; and a sister, Lou Hays. Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Ross of Big Pine Key, Fla., and Debra Burritt and husband Bobby of Fritch; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Margie West of Fritch.


Note that his obituary says the wedding was in 1947, whereas his wife's obituary said 1946.
