His Obit appeared in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Thursday, December 14, 2006.

It reported that "Lewis Henry Tandy Jr., 89, passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006."

"Lewis was born June 18, 1917, to Lewis and Madge Tandy of Fort Worth. He was a professional civil engineer and worked with the Fort Worth Water Department for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army with the engineering division in Los Alamos, N.M., during World War II.

He served on the board of directors of the Fort Worth City Credit Union from 1964 to 1998 and was vice chairman from 1979 to 1991.

He came from a pioneer ranching family and was a charter member of Meadowbrook United Methodist Church. He was a Boy Scout with Troop 12 and a Sea Scout, and was a lifelong enthusiast of nature. He hiked as a boy through the hills that later became Tandy Hills Park and helped support the establishment of that land as a natural reserve, through his activity with the West Meadowbrook Association. He and his family were enthusiastic sailors for many years at the Lake Worth Sailing Club.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen and Betty Tandy of Fort Worth."

Survivors: His wife of 62 years, Helen; 2 sons; a grandson and granddaughter; a brother,; 4 nephews; a grandniece; a great-grandnephew; and a grandnephew.
