Dorothy Myrne Altendorf, 72, of Amarillo died Sunday, May 12, 2002.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with Brent Ashby officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Mrs. Altendorf was born March 16, 1930, in Clarendon. She received her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech and her master's degree from West Texas State University.
She married Billie Bryan Altendorf in 1953. She taught school for several years before becoming a homemaker. She later taught kindergarten at Highland Baptist Church.
She was a member of and sang in the choir at First Christian Church before becoming a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988; a son, John Michael Altendorf in 1985; and a daughter, Patricia Lou Altendorf in 1954.
Survivors include two sons, William Bryan Altendorf of Collierville, Tenn., and Gerry Wayne Altendorf of Amarillo; a sister, Janice Pair of Lubbock; and five grandchildren, John Michael Altendorf II, Lauren Denise Altendorf and Emma Kay Altendorf, all of Amarillo, and Sean Patrick Altendorf and Adam Bryan Altendorf, both of Collierville.
