Notes for Auguste Caroline Kulms
Augusta Kulms, age 6, male, is listed in the 1860 census. Birth date and name for Auguste Caroline Kulms (with parents' names listed) are from baptism records of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Frelsburg, TX (U.S. Evangelical Lutheran Church of America Records 1875-1940 on Ancestry.com). The names and ages seem too similar to me, so I suspect she was mismarked as male in the 1860 census. She was baptized in Frelsburg, TX, but I'm not sure from the record whether she was born there or not (baptism was two years after birth, on 22 Feb 1857). In the 1860 census, Augusta is listed as born in Prussia along with the rest of the family, so for now I am putting her down as born in Germany.
