Christoph August Sommerlatte, was born in Worlitz-Anhalt-Dessau, Prussia. He was the son of Friedrich Rudolf and Agnes "Holzkin" Sommerlatte.
He married Johanne Louise Jetzschmann on Oct. 1, 1826, in Worlitz-Anhalt-Dessau, Prussia. The couple were the parent's of six known children, two of which died as very young children.
He arrived in the United States in 1858, and settled in Colorado County, Texas.
It is not known as to, Christoph exact date of death or his place of burial, but it is probable that he is buried in the Sommerrlatte Cemetery, in Colorado County, Texas.
