Wilhelm August "William" Venghaus, was the son of Hermann Heinrich Venghaus and Johanna Schubert Venghaus.
He was the husband of Mary Augusta Sommerlatte Venghaus.
Colorado County Citizen, Colorado County, Texas, September 18, 1930;
On September 16, at 5:30 in the evening Mr. William Venghaus was called away from his labors.
Having been born in Frelsburg, on December 10, 1858, he lived in Colorado County, all of his life. Here he married Miss Augusta Sommerlatte, some fifty nine years ago.
Here he purchased a farm in more recent years. Here he also raised his children who mourn his death.
They are Mrs. A. H. Kramer of Victoria, Mrs. Oswald Kretzschmar of Mentz, Miss Marie Venghaus of Mentz, and A. J. Venghaus of Garwood.
Interment was at the Oddfellows Rest Cemetery, on September 18.
