Notes for Elizabeth M. Ritter
Knauss Family Genealogy lists her as Elizabeth Snyder, but the marriage record lists her as Elizabeth M. Ritter. The marriage record gives her birth place as Madison, MI, but the 1880 census says she was born in Indiana. The 1870 census shows her family living in Indiana, but shows Elizabeth as born in Michigan. There is a Madison Township in Lenawee County, Michigan; maybe that was her birthplace? One of the marriage witnesses was John Ritter. According to a family tree on Ancestry.com (https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/62673955/person/40092097910/facts?usePUBJs=true&_phsrc=hOE1335 ), her parents were John Ritter and Nancy Strickler.
