A Wilson Family Tree

Notes for Elisabeta unknown

Notes from Marilyn Knowles Riehl:

The birth date, location and parents of ELIZABETH ______ are not known. Before 1759 she married widower PETER KREILING and together they had Salome, Sarah, Anna, and CATHARINE. Elizabeth was a weaver as was her husband Peter. She was widowed about 1765 and left with four minor children.

She was mentioned with her husband in a deed in 1759 and was an administrator with John Rockroth [sic] for her husband's estate in 1765. She paid taxes on 50 acres in Upper Milford, Northampton County, Pennsylvania in 1772, 1781, 1785 through 1789 and named as "reputed owner" in 1798.

In 1770 Elizabeth was a member of the Great Swamp Congregation of the German Baptist Church, also called Church of the Brethren, Tunkers or Dunkards. John Frick was the minister. In 1796 she was bequeathed 15 pounds in his will. The will states if she were dead "...her lame daughter was to receive the legacy." This daughter is probably Anna who was also a weaver.

Elizabeth was not enumerated as head of household in 1790 or 1800 as she was probably living with family members. She died about 1802 and in her will, written in German ..., left all of her spinning materials, fabric, thread, two spinning wheels and other specific items to her daughter Anna. The rest of her estate was divided among her four children. Other than her daughter Anna and a granddaughter Elizabeth, daughter of Sara, the rest of the children are not named specifically in her will. They are, however, all named in the 1768 settlement of her husband's estate.

Neither her exact death date nor her place of burial are known.
