Notes for Pheobie J. Kanouse
This is a bit confusing. Some places show a daughter of Reuben named Phebe/Phoebe Philinda Kanouse, and one of them shows her with a husband named Leon Bowen (http://sararoots.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html). Find a Grave (listing for Pheobie J Kanouse Bower) lists her as Pheobie J. Kanouse and her husband as Lewis Bower. They have pictures of the gravestones, so I'm inclined to believe this is right. I suspect she was named for her aunt, Phoebe Jane Kanouse Rubley.
