Final rites were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00, from the First Baptist Church for W. E. TANDY, 62, prominent Ochiltree and Hemphill county farmer and stockman, who passed away at the Perryton hospital Monday evening, November 27.

W. E. (Bill) TANDY suffered a stroke Saturday noon at his home 20 miles south of Perryton and was brought to the hospital Sunday night where he succumbed at 6:00 p.m. Monday evening.

W. E. TANDY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Henry TANDY was born October 9, 1882 at Fort Worth. He came to Ochiltree county in 1895 and was engaged in extensive farming and stock raising. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. W. E. and Mrs. TANDY the former Golta KING, were in charge of the Notla post office for two years until it was discontinued about a month ago.

Rev. O. C. Curtis pastor of the Baptist Church held the services. Two songs, “Shall We Gather at the River,” and “Rock of Ages” were sung by Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Wooten, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lawrence, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Burton, Mrs. John Osterbuh, Mrs. G. D. Holt, K. E. McKneeley and Rev. Elmer Holt accompanied by Mrs. Elmer Holt at the piano.

Burial was made in Ochiltree cemetery with Boxwell Brothers in charge of the arrangements.

Honorary pallbearers were W. B. LaMASTER, Sam HERGERT, Fred TURNER, L. F. WAGGONER, H. L. WILBANKS and Claude BOWEN.

Survivors are the wife, three sons, Roger, Perryton; A. H. Mangum, Oklahoma; Wm. E., in the service overseas, and one daughter, Mrs. J. D. WRIGHT of Dallas, three sisters, Mrs. S. W. SCOTT, San Antonio, Mrs. C. W. CONRAD, Boston, Massachusetts, Mrs. L. L. MORRISON, Canadian; and five grandchildren.
