Oliver L. Lane
Oliver Lee Lane, 93, Independence, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at the Monterey Park Living Center.
Oliver was born March 5, 1914, in Joplin, Mo., to Alan and Stella (Omans) Lane. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Lane retired from Standard Oil Refinery in 1974. Oliver and his wife, Elizabeth, moved to Shell Knob, Mo., to enjoy 27 years of retirement fishing, boating and traveling. Mr. Lane loved his family dearly and was a dedicated husband and father.
He is survived by his son, William Lane and wife, Linda; and granddaughter, Shelley Lane. Oliver was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Davis) Lane, in 2000.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at White Chapel Cemetery, Springfield, Mo. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.speakschapel.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence, 816-373-3600.
