MARSHALL, Mo. – Dora Elizabeth Breshears, 95, of Marshall, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, in Marshall.
Born Oct. 6, 1906, in Jasper, she was the daughter of Osbourne Hardy Willis and Laura S. Byrd Willis. On Aug. 2, 1926, she married James Monroe Davis, who preceded her in death Aug. 6, 1941. On Jan. 31, 1953, she married Lester J. Breshears, who preceded her in death July 15, 1970. She lived in Marshall since 1947 after moving from Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a baby sitter for many years and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Marshall.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Gertrude Davis and husband William of rural Napton, Mo., and Laura Ostler and husband Wally of Fresno, Calif.; a foster son, Marvin Lee Hunt and wife Barbara of Marshall; 10 grandchildren; 2 foster grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 foster great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a daughter-in-law, Veda Davis of rural Marshall; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Willis of Lawrence, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, her second husband, five brothers, five sisters and two sons, Marvin Davis and John H. Davis.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church in Marshall with the Rev. Dale Bean and William W. Harlow officiating. Norma Eddy and Scottie Davis will sing “In the Garden” and “When He Reached Down His Hand.” Leonda Raines, pianist and soloist, will sing “Amazing Grace.” Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery at Marshall with arrangements by Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home of Marshall.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Davis, Marvin Leonard Davis, Rob Davis, Conny Ahrens, Harold Eddy and Jimmy Willis.
