Notes for Luther Hatfield Curtis
He is listed in the 1900 census as Hatfield and in the 1910 census as Hatfield L. The Jerry and Trudy Curtis web site lists him as Luther Hatfield.
Obituary from his funeral service (obtained from David and Wilma Gathright, April 2015):
Mr. Luther Hatfield Curtis was born in Gaylord, Kansas March 13, 1892. Most of his life was spent in farming until his retirement some years ago. At the time of his death he was living in Kerrville, Texas. He passed away at Abilene, Texas, December 21, 1960.
Survivors, beside his wife, Iva, include, four sisters:
Mrs. John Kanouse, Chickasha, Oklahoma,
Mrs. Harriet Andrews, 406½ East Douglas, Wichita, Kansas
Mrs. Anna Thomas, 1715 W. Douglas, Wichita, Ks,
and Mrs. Hazel Ayers, 408 N. Meridian, Wichita, Kansas, and three brothers,
Mr. Roll Curtis, 1431 Bluffview, Wichita, Ks,
Mr. John M. Curtis, Clay Center, Kansas, and
Mr. Asa Curtis or [sic] Lawrence, Kansas.
Other friends and relatives are included in those who will miss the fellowship and companionship of Mr. Curtis.
