Obituary from the Advance Yeoman, on Robert Brown, June 30, 1984: James Robert Brown, 59, West Paducah Route 2, died at 3:28am Saturday at Western Baptist Hospital. Born in Ballard County, he was a resident of McCracken County the past 35 years. He was a World War II veteran in the 82nd Airborne Division and was a pipefitter after leaving the service. Mr. Brown was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, Moose Lodge No. 282, Metropolis, Grahamville Masonic Lodge No. 707 and the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty L. Brown; one son, Jimmy Brown of West Paducah; one daughter, Mrs. Ann Luna of West Paducah; two brothers, Sammie Rhea and Lynn Brown, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; five sisters, Mrs. Betty Lois Freeman of Independence, Mo., Miss Louella Brown and Mrs. Gloria Jean Bowman, both of Indianapolis, Mrs. Capanna Cochran of Augusta, Ga., and Mrs. Willean Kimbrough of Ventura, Calif.; two grandsons, one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Services were Monday at 11a.m. at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Mills Boldry officiating. Burial was in Maplelawn Cemetery.
