Notes for Amanda Emily (Emma) Whaley
The Handbook of Texas says that Stockton Donley's second wife was Mrs. Emma Slaughter, and they had a daughter (name not given). The Bakers of Cumberland Co., Ky family tree site lists her as Amanda M. Emily 'Emma' Whaley. In the 1850 census she is listed as Amanda M. Whaley, in the 1860 census she is listed as Emily Slaughter, and after that she is listed as Emma Donley. That family tree also shows that her first husband was Dr. Hannibal (Booker) Slaughter, and they married on 18 Dec 1855 in Tallapoosa Co., AL.
