Ventura County Star, 19 May 2017 (obtained from Legacy.com):

Ann Elizabeth "Betty" Ewin(1917 - 2017)

Ventura, CA

Ann Elizabeth ""Betty"" Ewin passed away peacefully on May 15, 2017, at the age of one hundred in Ventura, California. She was born in Centralia, Missouri on March 4, 1917 to Albert Earle and Erma Crawford Early. She had an older brother, Raymond and sister, Dorothy.
Betty moved to Long Beach in 1930. The massive 1933 Long Beach earthquake, which destroyed Long Beach Poly High School, forced Betty to complete her senior year in a tent. While working as a bank teller, she met and married Donley Lyle Ewin in 1936. Don and Betty had three children, Dick, Ann and Ray. The family lived in Culver City until 1959, when they moved to Ventura. Betty worked for Security Pacific Bank and started a regional Escrow Service Center for Bank of America. She retired in 1979.

Betty was especially close with her family and the families of her sister, Dorothy. Don and Betty enjoyed camping and visited Yosemite almost every year for about four decades. After she retired, they traveled in their van for ten weeks seeing sites throughout the United States and visiting friends and family. She was a longtime active member of the United Methodist Church of Ventura. She celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by sixty members of her loving family on March 4th. She was an inspiration to all and deeply loved.

Her husband Don and elder son Dick preceded her in death. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Dan Cormode; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Sheila Ewin; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ewin; grandchildren, Scott and Genie Cormode, Cathy and Mark Carriger, Kirste and Tom Richards, Derek and Diana Ewin, Michael and Kerrie Cormode, Marci and John Worthy, Alisa and Matt Anderson; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Cormode, Donley Cormode, Maegan Carriger, Melissa Carriger, Rebecca Cormode, Siena Worthy, Drew Worthy, Kyle Anderson, Jason Anderson, Alex Ewin, Dominic Ewin, Nicolle Richards and Jessica Richards; and great-great granddaughter, Emma Ewin.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, June 17, 2017, 2:00 pm at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Salvation Army in Betty Ewin's name.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home.
