Obituary from Phillip Rand Bynon's Ancestry.com family tree site:
MILLER
Santa Paula, October 14, 1918, Marcella Wayne (Bynon) Miller, aged 27 years, wife of Carroll C. Miller, mother of Jean Miller, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Bert Bynon.
Death claimed this young woman after an illness of only a few days and on Tuesday afternoon a short funeral service was held on the lawn in front of the cottage on the Limoneira ranch, which had been her home with her husband and little four year old daughter for more than a year. Rev. Chapin conducted the service and the pallbearers were young men from the Limoneira ranch. Flowers in profusion surrounded the casket and spoke silent messages from the friends the young woman had won during the time of her residence, friends who recognized her sympathetic and generous nature expressing itself in her daily life.
The parents of Mrs. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. A. Bert Bynon and her two small brothers and a sister were visiting at the Miller home at the time of her illness and were thus enabled to be with her at the end. One brother is en route for Siberia with the American forces and another is in the navy and is now in York. Interment was in the Santa Paula cemetery.
