Services for Delbert C. Martin, 73, of Chickasha, will be held at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel in Anadarko with Sister Alice Wending, officiating. Burial will be in Anadarko's Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Martin was born March 16, 1924 in Gracemont to Doyle Martin and Essie Hitt and died Saturday in Oklahoma City, Ok. He married Maxine R. Baker Oct. 24, 1944 in Anadarko. He was raised in Anadarko and went into the U.S. Army in Oklahoma City in 1942 during World War II He was honorably discharged in 1946. He and his wife were married while he was in the service. He spent all of his working years as a machinist in California, retiring in 1981. He loved the Lord and he loved to fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Donna Winters of the home; one son, Bobby S. Martin of Ridgecrest, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Dale Hitt of Rush Springs and Darrel Martin of Henderson, Nev.; and one sister, Doylene Martin of Las Vegas, Nev.
