A Wilson Family Tree

Notes for Amy Louisa Rowell

In Benjamin Marion Curtis's obituary and in the marriage record with John Curtis, her first name is given as as Louisa. In the 1850 census, she is listed as Ama L. Curtis. In the 1860 census, she is listed as Ann Curtis. In the 1875 Kansas census, it looks like Amma Curtis. In the 1880 census, she is Amy Day. Diane Branam listed her as Amma Powell, but updated to Louisa "Amma" Rowell. The Jerry and Trudy Curtis family tree site lists her as Anna Louise Rowell. Ancestry.com (Missouri Marriage Records, 1805-2002) has an image for the marriage record between her and John Curtis. It lists her as Miss Louisa _______; it's hard to read the last name on that record. I had thought it was probably Powell, but I got a copy of the death certificate for Benjamin Marion Curtis, and it shows his mother's name as Louisa Rowel. So I guess now I will take her last name as Rowell.
