He was pastor in Louisville, KY, Hopkinsville, KY, Lockland Baptist Church in Nashville, TN and Grace Baptist Church in Sumter, SC.
He served on the Board of Trustees for Carson Newman College and Furman University.
He had diabetes and took insulin to control it.
He and his wife were killed in head on collision by a drunk driver.
