Lawrence "Larry" Neeley Reeves, 79, Platte County, Mo., died at his home, Mar. 31, 1990. Larry was born September 9, 1910, near Hamburg, Iowa. His parents were Jessie Agnes (Neeley) and Myron Reeves, Sr.
Larry married Ruth Craddock-Cockrum, May 15, 1948 in Bentonville, Ark. They have lived in the Platte City area the past 42 years.
Larry had served in the Platte County Sheriff's Posse, and became Platte County Sheriff during 197-68. He was appointed Council Member of the Northwest Missouri Law Enforcement Assistance Council from July 1971-January 1973. He was a former Shriner and member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Reeves (1986) and Myron Reeves, Jr. a sister, Mattie Reeves, and two grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, Platte County, Mo.; four daughters, Patricia Cole, Omaha, Nebr., Donna Bailey, Leavenworth, Kans., Nancy Kiser, Tyler, Tex., Judith Benn, Wichita, Kans., a brother, Paul Reeves, Kansas City, Mo.,a sister, Frances Hamilton, Thermopolis, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are pending following cremation. D. W. Hanks Funeral Home handling the arrangements.
