Last name spelled Sandige and Sandidge in the Martin Sandidge manuscript.
From the Martin Sandidge manuscript:
About 1793, he and his family left Virginia and traveled, first to Kentucky, and then on to Georgia, where he settled in Franklin County between 1793 and 1795. John, a lay preacher, remained in Franklin County until approximately 1832, when he moved with his son, Garrett, to Madison County, Alabama, where they settled 15 miles north of Huntsville.
