Notes for James McReynolds

James McReynolds was born in 1719 at Killyman near Dungannon. With his mother he emigrated to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1738. He was apprenticed as a carpenter in the city of Lancaster and, in 1748, married Mary Bell, born in 1729. In 1750 they migrated down the Shenandoah valley into Virginia and established themselves in Bedford County, Virginia. Mary died in 1799 and James in 1807. They are buried with other members of their family in a family plot about seven miles from Spout Springs, Appomattox County, Virginia.
