Oliver McReynolds was born in Bedford County, Virginia, on Aug.28, 1770, and married Elizabeth Steele on Feb.4, 1796, in Campbell County. He was active in civic and religious affairs, being at one time High Sheriff of Campbell County. In 1823 he was the last of his family to leave Campbell County, moving to Christian County, Kentucky, and later Trigg County, Kentucky, where he died in 1837.
