The WFT Volume 5 references did not list Anselem as a child of Ephraim and Jane Anna. Last name is variously spelled Gathright and Garthright.

'In Jun 1768 Henrico Court Case of Anselm and Elizabeth GATHRIGHT against Anthony and Ann MATTHEWS, and their Daughter, Susannah MATTHEWS. - 'Hutchins BURTON made a gift of a slave named PHILLIS to his granddaughter Elizabeth MATTHEWS wife of Anselm GATHRIGHT, after her mother Ann MATTHEWS had died, Susannah BURTON age 67 and wife of HUTCHINS said her late husband Hucthins had viven the slave Philli sto Anthony and Ann MATTHEWS 18 years ago, and they had had possesion of her and her increase eversince. Anthony MATTEWS age 50 years says that in October 1749 that he and his wife Ann who was a daughter of Said BURTON called on BURTON on the way to Cumberland and said tha BURTON told them they could have the negro girl Phillis for their life time. The said slave Phillis was on BURTON'S Cumberland Farm. Ann MATTHEWS, age 38, supported her husband's deposition and said she had given the slave to her daughter Elizabeth GATHRIGHT
