MCPHERSON -- Faye Clifton, 96, former Augusta resident, homemaker, died Wednesday (Dec. 22, 1999) at Infinia Health Care Center in McPherson. She was the grandmother of Jacquie Balzer of Newton.
She was born June 15, 1903, in Smith County to Michael and Jessie (Moore) Kanouse. She married John R. Clifton Sr. Oct. 12, 1921, in Smith Center. He preceded her in death in 1955.
Survivors include: two sons, John "Jack" Clifton Jr. of McPherson and David Clifton of Chicago; one daughter, Rea Spears of Tulsa, Okla.; 15 other grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Potter-Campbell and Stella Boyston.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Stockham Family Funeral Home Chapel in McPherson with the Rev. Robby Bolden officiating. Burial will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Fairview Cemetery in Smith Center.
