Notes for John Ainslie
The Adair Wilson family record says he was from Memphis, TN. The 1860 census says he was born in England, but in what seems to be his listing in the 1870 census, his birth place is given as Kentucky (another reason to question that 1870 listing, but on the other hand there are often errors in census listings). Find A Grave (listing for John Ainslie) also says he was born in England. The location within England is from the SpenReeve family tree site.
According to Find A Grave he died from tuberculosis. His parents were John A. Ainslie and Mary Susannah Borron Ainslie Hogan. J.S.C. Hogan was her second husband, and John and Missouri were living with the Hogans in the 1860 census. Missouri and her children were also living with Mrs. Hogan in the 1880 census (Mary Hogan and Missouri Ainslie were both widows, though Missouri is marked as single in the census).
