Notes for William H. Edwards

William’s parents were William Edwards and Lydia Rudy, according to the Dryden manuscript.

Also from the Dryden manuscript:

William H. Edwards served in the Civil War as Captain of Company G, One Hundred and Thirty-Third Infantry Illinois Volunteers, which was organized at Camp Butler, Illinois, by Colonel Thaddeus Phillips, and mustered in for one hundred days on May 31, 1864. On June 3, 1864, the Regiment moved to Rock Island Barracks and was assigned to duty guarding prisoners of war. The Regiment performed the duty faithfully and efficiently during its term of service. On September 24, 1864, the Regiment was mustered out of service at Camp Butler, Illinois.
