A Wilson Family Tree

Notes for Walter Davis

From the Parks manuscript:

His [William Cunningham Davis's] son Walter married Rebecca Van Lear. They settled close by him at the Red Rock Spring, where they spent the remainder of their lives, Walter dying at the age of seventy-nine, his wife some years before him. They raised a family of three daughters and two sons, all of whom except one (Columbus) have passed away, leaving I believe no issue.

In Waddell and Ancestral File, he is called Walter Davis Jr.

Waddell says that he was for many years one of the two commissioners of the revenue in Augusta Co., VA.

Dr. Parks' memory doesn't seem to have been as good for this family. It looks like there were two daughters and three sons (not counting the one who died in infancy), and if there was only one child surviving at the time of Parks' writing, it was Theodore rather than Columbus. He might have been right about no issue, but that is not certain.
