Son of Simon Loop and Mary Elizabeth Heck, according to the Loop1 family tree on Ancestry.com (http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/25887631/family/familygroup?fpid=1734367944).
James Hotchkiss said he was born in Berks County, PA, but the above family tree says Augusta County, VA.
There is conflicting information about his birth and death dates. I have adopted the ones from Find A Grave (listing for Lewis Loop). Find A Grave includes a picture of his gravestone, with the dates shown here.
