Apparently named for Alva Adams, who was the governor of Colorado who (much later) appointed Adair Wilson to the court of appeals (from Adair Wilson obituary).
The short obituary of his wife says that he was postmaster and mayor of Willits, CA. His occupation is listed as postmaster in the 1940 census.

Listed as Alva Wilson, age 11 months, born in Missouri, father and mother born in Missouri. Living with his parents.
