A Wilson Family Tree

Notes for Edwards Adair Wilson

Several sources show his first name as Edward, but this appears to be one of the cases of using the mother’s maiden name as a son’s first name. James Hotchkiss gives his death date as 3 Nov 1950, but the California Death Index and U.S. Headstone Applications for Military Veterans, both on Ancestry.com, show November 8. The Headstone Application shows that he was in the 1st Regiment Colorado Infantry in the Spanish-American War.

He apparently tried several occupations. In the 1900 census he is listed as an attorney. In 1910 and 1920 he is listed as an assayer. On his WWI draft registration card (1918) his occupation is given as accountant. In 1920, 1930, and 1940 he was a confectioner (and there is mention of this in the write-up about Della Ruth Larens by her sister).

1880 census
Listed as Eddie A. Wilson, age 6, born in Missouri, father and mother born in Missouri. Living with his parents.
