Notes for Catherine (Caty) Croom

[SRC]- may not have been in SC. her last child was born in 1782.... May have died in NC. In any event she was dead by 1785. She may have died in 1782 when the last child was born.
Carolyn Gathright's note above says she died before 1785, but many family trees and Find A Grave (listing for Catherine “Caty” Croom Collins) give her death as 2 Apr 1788. Find A Grave has mixed messages, as it also says "She was born 1743 in Barnwell Co. South Carolina, and died Bet. April 02, 1788 - 1800 in Winton County South Carolina." So perhaps death shoud be AFTER 2 Apr 1788. On the other hand, Carolyn Gathright had a marriage for James Collins to Nancy about 1787, which is unlikely if Caty lived until 1788.
