Theda Coser Gathright, 77, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at her home.
She was born September 9, 1937 in Pine Bluff, daughter of George and Estell Phillips Coser.
Mrs. Gathright was reared and received her early education in Dollarway and Watson Chapel, graduating from Watson Chapel High School. She was recruited to Watson Chapel to play basketball for their high school varsity team
She worked for First Federal Savings of Arkansas for many years, retiring as manager. Mrs. Gathright also worked part-time at Pine Bluff Title.
Mrs. Gathright was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Deborah Sunday School class. She enjoyed golf, bridge, playing cards and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Glenn Ray Gathright; her parents; brother, Phillip Coser; and two sisters, Mazie McDade and Ann Langrell.
Survivors include her daughter and caregiver, Kay Gathright of Damascus; son, Ken Gathright of Pine Bluff; sister, Marie Martin of Jamestown; two grandchildren, Amber Gathright of Pine Bluff and Daniel Gathright of Denver, Colorado; and several nieces including Renee Langrell Jelks and her husband, Mark, of White Hall and Gail Langrell Massey and her husband, Richard, of White Hall.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Reverend Kenneth Thornton and Reverend Wesley Watts officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at First Baptist Church. Arrangements were handled by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors (online register: www.ralphrobinsonandson.com).
