Spelling of name is from her headstone (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=51970145). Carolyn Gathright had Safronia Ann Prince. Findagrave also had this note:

Yesterday afternoon at 2:25 Mrs S. A Gathright died at the home of Her daughter, Mrs Willie Reeves the funeral took place at 4 o'clock this afternoon. This good woman was 71 years 7 months and 10 days old. She was the widow of Prof Gathright who was the first president of the Texas A &M College and who was a popular educator and teacher up to the time of his death.
Note that the birth and death dates on the headstone give an age of 70 years 7 months 10 days. Hopefully the headstone is correct, rather than the newspaper article.
