A Wilson Family Tree

Notes for Carrie Alice Curtis

Gaylon Gathright listed her birth as being in Smith, KS, but I think it was probably Smith Co., KS (more in the note for John Henry Kanouse). Some other sources say she was born in Gaylord, KS, but it might really have just been near Gaylord, KS.

From Smith County Pioneer (15 Jul 1897, p. 8, obtained from Ancestry.com):

On Monday, July 5, at the residence of the bride's parents, B. M. Curtis and wife in the presence of a large company of guests, Mr. John Kanouse and Miss Carrie Curtis were united in marriage, Elder J. F. McClure officiating. A sumptuous wedding dinner was served, and the newly married couple received many handsome and useful presents. We were promised full particulars of the wedding, together with a list of the presents and donors, but it was not received in time for this week's paper.
