With great sadness we announce that Arlan Dale Haralson, 75, passed away in his home September 19, 2023. He was a greatly loved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend.
Arlan loved making people laugh, loved his children and grandchildren and loved being with his family. He loved helping people and loved talking to anyone. He never met a stranger and loved little children. He loved giving to missions.

He worked for over 50 years as a plumber and retired from Lubbock Fire Department after 23 years of service. He loved going to coffee with his fireman friends and others every week to talk about life, old fireman stories, how to fix things, motors, cars, any plumbing problems. There was nothing he could not figure out how to fix.

Arlan was born April14, 1948 to James Wilton and Ila Ruth Haralson in Morton, TX. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1966 and married Betty Mae Cole at Monterey Baptist Church, Lubbock on August 1, 1974.

Arlan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Mae Haralson, two daughters, Carrie Jane Taylor and Tony Nelson Taylor of Jacaltenango, Guatemala and (Dee)Darolyn Jean Lewis of Lubbock, TX., five grandsons, Keenan Anthony Lewis, Lubbock, TX, Jayden Kaleb and Kimber Lewis, Manitou Springs, CO, Braegan Marshall Taylor, Dallas, TX, Trenden Quaid Taylor, and Daivin Levi Taylor, both of Jacaltenango, Guatemala, two sisters, Karin Sullivan, Burleson, TX, Cloie Muncy, Lubbock, TX and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Ila Haralson, two brothers, David and Earl Haralson, and two sisters, Wilta Haralson and Nelva Smith.

Family visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 7pm to 8:30pm. A celebration of his life will be 4:00 PM Monday, September 25, 2023 in Glad Tidings Church, 5302 Ave. Q, with Pastor Jared Baker officiating.
