Patricia Ann Green Shiflett FORT WORTH--Patricia Ann Green Shiflett, 89, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018. FUNERAL MASS: 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, White Settlement, Texas. Reception follows at noon. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Red Cross or Meals on Wheels, two organizations Pat loved and volunteered with for many years. Patricia was born June 15, 1929, in Ford City, Pa., to Mary Rovnyak and Leo Green. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1950 and accepted a position as a nurse for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company in Ford City. In 1954, she was commissioned as a first lieutenant in the United States Air Force Nurse Corps where she later met the love of her life, George M. Shiflett. Pat and George were married April 4, 1955, in Frankfurt, Germany, while they were both stationed at Rhein-Main Air Force Base. Pat loved caring for people and practiced nursing for over 30 years until her retirement from Harris Hospital in 1991. Pat was preceded in death by her son, James Stephan Shiflett; and daughter, Julia Fezio Crosswell. SURVIVORS: Husband, George M. Shiflett; sons, Dennis Shiflett and Mark Shiflett; daughters, Laura Shiflett, Mary Alda and husband, John, and Jean Shiflett; grandchildren, Sarah Fezio, Jennifer Boyle, Joe Fezio, Margaret Woodlee, Robert Lyons, Amanda Lyons, Matthew Shiflett and Michael Shiflett; and four great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Erica, Nancy, and all who helped care for Pat.
