John H. Hudspeth, 78, of Shawnee, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at his home.
He was born Nov. 8, 1935, in Durant to Halsell and Vesta (Maybee) Hudspeth.
Ht attended schools in Durant, where he played baseball, and some college at OU, where he played freshman football.
He was married to Delores Jan Dillard and then to Jan Lange.
He was a United States Army veteran and lived most of his life in Shawnee, having moved here in 1963.
He owned State Farm Insurance agency for 45 years.
John was a member of the First Baptist Church, a board member of the Salvation Army for many years, and a member of the Elks Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jimmy Hudspeth; a sister, Sally Cole; both wives; and a daughterin- law, Kathy Hudspeth.
Survivors include his son, Bob Hudspeth of Shawnee; grandchildren, Patrick and Ashley Risinger and Chris Risinger, all of La Grange, Ky., and Adam and Christina Risinger of Tecumseh; great-grandchildren, Dallas and Jonathon Risinger; step-daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Richard Anderson of Shawnee; step-son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Robin Gale of Shawnee; step-grandchildren, Jana Womack of Shawnee, Rachel and Quinton Fine of Abilene, Texas, Natasha and Aaron Hart of Oceanside, Calif., Ciarra Bryant, Michael Gale, and Todd Gale, all of Shawnee; and numerous step-greatgrandchildren.
